Shirine Gill is an Iranian born artist who is currently working in New York City and San Antonio, Texas. Early in her career she worked as photojournalist traveling extensively in the Middle East, China, North Africa, Latin America and Europe. Her work ranges from abstract to political; her often camera-less process takes its cue from the history of photography as it continues to move the medium forward in its exploration of content. She has exhibited extensively in the US and abroad, as well as being included in several publications. She holds a Bachelor of Arts from Columbia University. She has also studied printmaking and photography with many leaders in the field.
