 ce starts at 8 pm sharp*\n\nThird Streaming is pleased to announce a new
  performance by *Derrick Adams*\, titled _Feed Them with a Long Spoon_. 
 The performance pays homage to the ritualistic American pastime of watch
 ing TV while breaking bread. Using visuals and sound\, Adams incorporate
 s his work _Everything I Kill I Eat_ (2010) on display at Third Streamin
 g\, which uses spears where spoons\, forks\, and knives replace the arro
 wed heads. The artist will spin an arrangement of hip-hop\, bmore beats\
 , pop\, and alternative tunes after the performance.\n\nDerrick Adams is
  a New York-based artist who works in a wide range of media\, including 
 performance\, installation\, sculpture\, and photography. He is preoccup
 ied with consumer objects and American iconography\, all influenced by p
 op culture\, television\, education\, and his black male experience in t
 he US. The artist scripts performative identities by using environments\
 , costumes\, as well as daily objects he collects and reconfigures. He d
 isrupts their functions and therefore exposes their presupposed meanings
 .\n\nAdams obtained his MFA from Columbia University and holds a BFA fro
 m Pratt Institute. He is also an alumnus of the Skowhegan School of Pain
 ting and Sculpture\, as well as the Marie Walsh Sharpe Space Program. Re
